Who Made Thursday the New Friday?
by LO
I knew my luck couldn’t last much longer… I’d made it from the gym to bar, crossing cobbles and decking, and only lost my shoe once. I knew, at one point, something else was going to happen as I am notorious for falling over.
My tiny feet are only a size one so before www.pretty-small-shoes.com I had to pad my shoes out to fit. Which is exactly what I had done to the shoes I was wearing last night. A work colleague was having some drinks to celebrate the start of her maternity leave and it would have been rude not to go. Especially as she is gorgeous and tiny and currently has a lovely baby bump! So, 4 mojitos later and no dinner it was most definitely time to go home.
My ‘padded’ shoes had become too uncomfortable so I changed into the pumps I had in my bag (which co-ordinated perfectly with my outfit, of course).
I thought I was being clever by running, well… jogging in places, to get myself home a bit quicker and more safely, not realising that what I actually needed protection from was myself! As I was crossing the road, I didn’t notice a speed bump – I know, how did I miss it?? – and well, you can guess what happened next.
I’m now sitting at work, feeling more than a little sorry for myself. Oh, the embarrassment… Really, who’s bright idea was it to make Thursday the new Friday??
