I Love my Birthday!!
by LO
I owe you ladies an apology. I’m so sorry I didn’t blog last week but I have good reason. It was my birthday. OK, so I know my birthday was on Monday so I should have blogged before hand but what can one do when one is whisked off their feet busy and can’t be near a computer?
The best thing about birthdays, and I hope you agree, is presents! I love presents, moreover, I love buying my own presents. I know that sounds very boring but for me, it’s key. If you buy me something I don’t like the only person that’s going to be upset is you, coz I’ll tell you, or more to the point, the look of disappointment on my face will tell you coz I can’t hide it. I try not to. Really. But I can’t.
I had started to worry a little about this because on Saturday night we – me and the other half (who we will call SBO or Slightly Bigger One, coz he is only slighter bigger than me) went out for dinner with my longest, dearest friend and her partner. She and I have known each other for years but have only recently begun to have the same taste and a couple of years ago she bought me something for my b’day and she had to take it back! How ungrateful of me? But this year she came up trumps! She bought me a gorgeous Mulberry ‘Heart’ key ring, which of course, just happens to go with my handbag and purse. She said she wanted to show me how much I meant – AH! Bless… I was touched, really, really touched (I’m not welling up, I am not welling up…oh dear, deep breath!)
Well, we had such a lovely evening together, going out for a bargain posh dinner. For which I have to say ‘thank you Toptable.co.uk!’ and then we headed back to Shoreditch where we went to Beach Blanket Babylon, which I think will now be one of my all time favourite night time hangouts.
It clearly helped that the friend and I went out looking totally cool and ready to rock the night away. Planned a week in advance my outfit consisted of: my new leather jacket care of ASOS and the SBO’s b’day present to me, my wet looks (leggings) and my brand new small size heels -Donatella in black care of www.pretty-small-shoes.com! I must admit I was exceptionally surprised and grateful that I stayed standing all night (my little size one feet, as we already know, do not lend themselves to balance).
I totally love my birthday and this year I had a fab time! So this blog just needs to be signed off with a big ‘THANK YOU!’ to all those who helped me celebrate – and it would be so rude if I didn’t mention the amazing Hello Kitty cake my sister hand made for me. I’m just sorry I couldn’t up load the picture for you all!! And truly with friends and family like this, how lucky am I?? (OK, need to stop being sentimental… or I really am going to cry!)
See you all next week!! Your Little One xx
