TFI Friday!

Hi ladies! I’ve decided that this wouldn’t be a proper blog if I didn’t share the highs and the lows with you so I’m going to tell you all about my super weird week which has both highs and lows.
So, on Wednesday I went for a free health check through work. They gave me a blood test and now I have a shocking yellow, blue and purple bruise all up my arm! And, I mean, its all up my arm, I’ve never seen anything like it. The annoying thing is we’ve been invited to a party on Saturday night and I’ve now got to wear long sleeves coz there’s no way I’m letting anyone see the monstrosity! But, at least it’s not summer any more so I won’t look too odd. Thank heaven for small mercies I suppose…
Then on Thursday night I started my new customising clothes course at the world re-known Central St Martins. I’ve been really excited about it since I signed up last week and I really do think it’s going to be awesome. Last night we spent the class discussing what clothes we want to change and how we want to change them. Luckily I’ve always been the sort of person that knows what and how they want to do things so I should be able to crack straight on. Next week we’re doing mood boards and I do love a mood board!
But, then as I walking to get the bus home (down one of London’s busiest roads) a young(ish) man came up behind me and tried to trip me up! Thankfully, I didn’t fall over. For once I was light on my petite feet and my balance did me proud!
He then went to tap me on the shoulder, maybe pat me on the back – or, what I don’t want to think about – try and pull my bag off my shoulder (luckily I have a satchel bag and there ain’t no way that’s coming back over my head unless I pull it!). So, I stepped back and told him in no uncertain terms what to do! He looked a little shocked but then laughed and walked off.
The problem I have with this event is two fold. One, it all happened so quick I’m not really sure what his intentions were, and two I had my I-pod on and therefore one of my major senses missing. It also meant I couldn’t hear what he said – and I may have shouted louder than intended. But then, if I needed to scare him off, it worked.
What I think what helped in my favour was that although I may have looked like an easy target from the back, from the front, it was a different matter. I had my fur lined parka on with my Rebel calf boots and a look that said ‘Don’t mess with me or I’ll kick you where the sun don’t shine with my awesome boots!’ I don’t condone violence in the slightest but when one’s own safety is in question, one’s gotta do what one’s gotta do! And, if it means one’s awesome boots has got to go where no awesome boots have gone before then so be it!
Co-incidentally we have the Police coming in to work next week to give us some safety pointers and if I needed an excuse to go and check out the nice kind Policemen in their uniform then this is it!! Just don’t tell the SBO, or he might get a bit jealous…
So, as you can tell I’m real glad its Friday! Lets all keep safe and we’ll speak again next week!
Have a good weekend all, LO x
