How to measure up for your Little Boots!

So, I think it’s finally official – winter is here! The weather has turned decidedly cold and wet. And as a matter of importance its time to decide on the boots that are going to get us through the following months.
Thankfully us ladies with petite feet, size 31 to size 33, need look no further than www.pretty-small-shoes.com and their fabulous made-to-measure facility. Your gorgeous tiny boots made to fit your gorgeous tiny feet! What could be better?!
So, here is a quick masterclass in how to measure your legs for your boots. You will need to measure around your ankle, the widest part of calf and finally the length; starting from your ankle and finishing where you want your boot to finish. This will mean that your boot will fit you the way you want it to!
As I guide here are my measurements (but please don’t panic if yours aren’t remotely the same – I really do have abnormally skinny legs):
Ankle – 23cms
Calf – 33cms
Ankle to just under knee – 26cms
But if I were to order a pair of Mila small sized thigh boots I would submit a measurement of 50cms, which is from my ankle to the point I want them to finish on my thigh.
A few pieces of advice… don’t measure too tight around your ankle, or you won’t be able to move! Remember you will want some wriggle room! And perhaps room to tuck your jeans in to your socks (if you wear your boots over your skinny jeans – the socks hold your jeans in place). And you may need some room for your socks, if again like me, you like extra thick thermal socks (and on especially cold days – tights and socks!!)
I would also suggest you don’t measure too tightly to your knee or you won’t be able to sit down without the top of the boots cutting in to the backs of your knees – ouch!
And here’s the key, key reminder… you may want to order your boots a size or two larger than you normally order your shoes. This is because with them being closed toed you won’t have any extra room, as you would with a pair of sandals, and of course, you won’t be wearing them bare-footed.
